Australia is providing intelligence architecture, intelligence collection, communication systems, military intelligence specialists, and the political cover that helps support the assault.
Australia’s support for the strikes
Australia was among the first countries to publicly endorse the US-Israeli strikes on Iran. In a joint statement issued hours after the attack on 28 February, Anthony Albanese, Wong and defence minister, Richard Marles, said Australia supported the strikes.
“We support the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent Iran continuing to threaten international peace and security,” the statement read.
One of the strikes killed more that 170 people at a girls’ school, most of them children. The government has since expanded its involvement. On Tuesday Albanese announced that Australia would send a military aircraft and 85 Australian Defence Force personnel to the United Arab Emirates to assist in the defence of Gulf nations targeted by Iran.
Experts say the move effectively makes Australia a party to the conflict.
WTF are they doing? I was hoping Wong at least would know better than turn herself into a war criminal…

The post isn’t merely about the article or US foreign policy though… It’s about Australian foreign policy and our politicians’ decision to be Trump’s lapdog.
Albo, Marles etc. now also sending our troops to war.
Since people in this community are so well aware of the link, they may be inclined to discuss this major foreign policy decision from our politicians in this community dedicated to australian politics.

The real question is: why is Australian political decisions about deployment to the US’ war determined by Trump’s paranoia?

Why are we allowing biased newspaper editors to frame our thinking? They’re anti-genocide marches.

- Comment on Large crowd of protesters gather at Land Forces defence expo in Melbourne's CBD 1 year ago:
It’s really not appropriate for a politician, the police minister to boot, to be calling anyone an ‘idiot’ in the same breath as demanding respect for the police. It’s the sort of language I’d accept from a truck driver, not from a top politician.
He is setting the tone of the discussion in an extremely problematic way by dehumanising/othering those desparately trying to stop lethal weapons sales used in crimes against humanity, while he normalises the gathering of war profiteers.
I’m extremely disappainted by this government’s policing policy.

“There’s nothing but disrespect being shown from some protesters who want to behave like idiots and police will deal with you,” he said.
our police minister, everyone.
PSA: respect has to be earned. An industry that arms crimes against humanity and genocide does not deserve respect.
The vic govt is funding this arms expo.
A lot of anti-protest rhetoric from the goverment here. Protesting is a fundamental democratic right.
