You do get other types of “claws”, them being magnets, tentacles, harpoons and maybe more with their own unique traits.
I see what you mean though. There’s a lot of RNG involved and you can’t really improve your clawing game other than aiming for the best.
To me, this is less of a gripe and more part of how I am expecting roguelites and roguelikes to behave.
- Comment on Why do people say "quote unquote something" and not "quote something unquote" ? 1 hour ago:
Plausible for programmers, at least

Same game, when you made the Guild Master drunk:
- I never forget faces, but in your case I’ll make an exception hic
Paraphrasing there, don’t remember the exact quote.
- It’s dangerous to go alone, take this
- Comment on Is there an obvious technical reason why the major email services (Outlook, gmail, etc) can't seem to limit recipients' from Replying-All? 1 hour ago:
Step 1: draft an email to yourself Step 2: put all recipients in the BCC Step 3: now “reply all” does jack shit

That is fair. Perhaps controversial but I had something similar with Balatro. But maybe I’ve just played too much poker in the past, who knows.

Will streamers play it? Will people buy it? I have no idea and no way to know really…
You can influence some of this directly, but yeah, there will be a lot of unknowns.
In the end of the day I just want to say I did my best and worked as hard as I could.
Valid and healthy goal! I do want to add: you can’t do everything yourself. Don’t be afraid to lean on your network to get help where possible. You can fill in some of those unknowns with resources from the indie scene, but that will also take time, effort and sometimes money.
- Comment on Why does it seem most people, mainly conservatives, against Trans people? Unless I am wrong I never heard of one shooting up a school church or whatever. The ones I have met have been pretty cool. 5 hours ago:
But at the end of the day a cube is a cube and a ball is a ball. Anything else is madness and you’re not standing for it.
This is the crux of where you are wrong. There’s more than just cubes and balls, but because of society, stigma and restrictive laws in some countries, everyone has to try and fit themselves into a cube or a ball, even though they might be egg shaped.

Congrats on 7k!
7k wishlists doesn’t directly translate to sales, but it can give you a good indication. Still, it’s good to be aware of the risks, and the consequences of this new, temporary life balance.
Please keep taking care of yourself!

The Outer Worlds is the non-fantasy, single player, action RPG Outer Wilds is the one you are thinking of. I can’t really put that to a genre, other than Outer Wilds is just art.

released in June, less than 6 bucks, only 1 review.
I haven’t tried it yet, but it’s hard being an indie dev it seems.

- Comment on How Can Gamers Build A Strong Gaming Community? 3 days ago:
Building a thriving community may improve gaming, increase engagement, and offer priceless support—regardless of your experience level as a streamer. Let’s look at some useful tactics and tips in this post to assist you in building an engaged and active gaming community.
So this is an ad for the website the blog is written on, I take it?
With Yostream, gamers can stream directly from their browser without zero concerns about clunky setups and laggy streams.
Ah, there it is.

Paper is everything, yes. But you can’t beat the image quality of inkjet when it comes to photos. Acceptable images, sure. But printing photos to sell or frame? No way.
- Comment on Before buying this printer, I made a quick search to confirm that it has wifi connectivity... (the algorithm lied to me) 4 days ago:
While this is perfect for documents and prints where picture quality doesn’t matter, OP mentioned later that they bought it specifically for photos.
You can use laser for photos but it looks like shit, so inkjet was the right way to go here
- Comment on PS5 Pro is struggling to improve some games, despite its power advantage 4 days ago:
So 2 out of 50 games aren’t really improved, aka 4%.
Turns out you can’t just throw better hardware at every game to make it run better, who would have thought.
- Comment on Is there a way to exclude topics from what I see on Lemmy? 4 days ago:
I think this is only possible through apps at the moment, like Voyager. Although there has been recent talk on GitHub, they acknowledge it will take a while before it’s implemented.

- Comment on Anons discuss PC vs console gaming 1 week ago:
Yeah, just have a controller plugged in and you can pick it up the moment you step into a car or a plane. It being so seamless helps for that game. Not all games support this though

Not accurate enough. All the piss and sweat would mean lost weight too.
It should be measured the same way calories are measured: dehydrate it, weight it, and then explode it inside a machine. I wanna see how many calories go in and how many calories go out.

- Comment on How do I change the font for the lemmy.world default interface on a browser? 1 week ago:
While I use a app as my mobile access to Lemmy, I just checked the website with Firefox on my phone and it doesn’t look blurry here.
Do you have specific font settings enabled on your phone? Firefox’s font size will change depending on your settings on Android.
Maybe not entirely the answer you are looking for, but I can at least confirm that it’s not a global issue with Firefox mobile and the website

- Comment on Nintendo sues a streamer for streaming ten games before their release 1 week ago:
Follow the source of this article (in this case Polygon, yuck) and you will find the original info:
It’s seeking $150,000 for each alleged violation of Nintendo’s rights outlined in the Copyright Act and $2,500 for each alleged violation of the Copyright Act’s anti-circumvention and anti-trafficking provisions. Alternatively, Nintendo also could elect to take “actual damages,” i.e. money it’s lost, and Keighin’s profits, “in amounts to be proven at trial.”
- Comment on Anons discuss PC vs console gaming 1 week ago:
Aim assist, generally speaking. That’s how they try and make it “fair” for console users.
- Comment on Anons discuss PC vs console gaming 1 week ago:
For Sunshine, they mapped RT to half press and RB to full press, so there isn’t really any practical change, except hitting a different shoulder button instead of partially pressing the same one.
I do agree on lamenting the triggers being digital though. I played a lot of Rocket League and the lack of fine grained controls alone was enough to not really enjoy it on Switch.

Do I look like the person who would get lost in a familiar place?
Actually, don’t answer that.
- Comment on Anons discuss PC vs console gaming 1 week ago:
I was intrigued, so looked it up: they use an 8 bit integer for indexing the players (2/^8=256), and one slot is reserved for the server itself.
So that leaves 255/2 = 127 on both sides, the remaining one is not used.
