The builds won’t be random but pre set characters with special abilities and Ultimates. They each play quite different. You’ll also find weapons and can put 3 in each hand as per usual but you don’t have to worry about weight

- Comment on Percentages 2 weeks ago:
I feel they might’ve left something out. If you’re at base value still an additive 100% increase (1+1=2) is better than a multiplicative 25% (1×1.25=1.25) increase but in games where bonuses stack another additive 100% increase would raise the effective value by 50% instead (1+1+1=3) whereas another multiplicative 25% would still raise the total by that much (1×1.25×1.25=1.56) so if you’re stacking a lot of bonuses, eventually the multplicative ones are more effective. As for how many steps it would take to be equal in our example… 1+1×X=1×1.25^X I’m not gonna do this in my bed on my phone but that equation should already tell you that the right side grows faster when X -> infinity

What a load of condescending shit. You’re giving kids not enough credit. Just because folders haven’t been relevant to them some kids don’t know about them, big deal. If they became in some way relevant they could learn about them. If you asked a millennial that never really used a computer they’d probably also not know. I’m fairly sure that people with disabilities know how to use accessibility tools like screen readers.

I’d say they’ve probably long reached the point where they have enough customers around the world to hold the load on their servers fairly constant. The example with one user only taking 5% of a servers load only works for low customer counts, similar to how you can’t count on one wind turbine or solar plant to provide all of your energy but if you have enough of them you can provide a base line of fairly constant energy
- Comment on PlayStation 6 Priced At $700 Like PS5 Pro? It’s Looking Likely 2 months ago:
Considering Nintendo selling very old games just emulated on their switch for almost full price I’d say people want both new games and their classics. The point is you don’t have to decide which games to get. I play Baldurs Gate 3 but also Age of Wonders 1 or the early Devil May Cry games. I can actually play the whole DMC series on one device while my PS5 is collecting dust as every game costs more there than on PC and I don’t have a big library of games.
Also I’d have to pay way too much money just to be allowed to play online on servers that Sony doesn’t even run. Over the span of 5-10 years I’d have to pay probably around 400-800€ just to play online.
I’m not 100% sure anymore but my pc with an AMD GPU and CPU cost me maybe 1300€ and runs everything i want on highest settings so far. I think the biggest price point on PC is people getting duped by sites like userbenchmark to think they need an Nvidia card that’s ridiculously expensive.
- Comment on Is Dragon's Dogma 2 worth it if I already have the first one? 2 months ago:
If you plan to do main story only, I’d say, go for the 2nd. However the first dragons dogma has bitterblack isles which is a giant dungeon designed to focus on pretty much nonstop action and multiple dives in, each getting further down and delivering powerful gear to help you get even further. It really helps to give you post-game stuff to do and i miss it in dd2 to the point of thinking about going back to the first one just for that part of the game

- Comment on What games would you recommend others to just play on easy difficulty 3 months ago:
This might be a weird one as the game is often blamed for not having difficulty settings, but Elden Ring. While it doesn’t have a straight up setting that says easy, there’s a lot of ways to make the game easier.
I really hate how Fromsoft put the “Prepare to Die” tagline onto Dark Souls when it came to PC and seems to develop into more bullshitty scenarios that kill you in unpredictable ways. Elden Ring has for example a lot of enemies that hold their attack for unintuitively long just to catch you off guard and punish you when you roll on the intuitive timing.
The community is to blame as well for the bad reputation of the games with people making fun of others using big shields and summons to beat the game. And herein lie the difficulty options of Elden Ring:
- Using greatshields makes a lot of the game a lot easier
- Using spirit ashes makes places that allow them a lot easier (as opposed to player and npc summons they don’t affect the enemies health pool)
- Using magic allows you to attack with little risk to yourself
You can also summon other players but i don’t know if that makes the game easier: As noted above it raised the enemies HP so everyone has to do their part to succeed but if you are a caster you can mostly sit back and blast enemies from afar while your summons tank. Using player summons also opens your world up for invasions and while the invader usually is in a 1v3 situation they also usually know what they are doing and how to deal with such situations.
If you’re still stuck at a boss, just go somewhere else and explore. The game is designed to teach you that lesson with the first actual boss but a lot of people take it as the game just being hard.
All of this is to say: it is okay to use the games integrated mechanics that make it easy. It doesn’t make you less of a gamer. Elden Ring has such a beautifully crafted world and if you’re looking very interesting lore and it’s a shame that seemingly all people talk about is the difficulty. It is actually the easiest Fromsoft title if you want it to be as it gives you a lot more and more powerful tools than the other games.
(Also if you see a chonky looking gal in black full body armour called Sieglinde, summon me. I have great heals, a big chonky sword and love helping people 😘)

Windows also does not have 100% compatibility. Try playing something like age of wonders 1 on current windows. I could run in out of the box on steam deck but not on my pc that at the time has windows 10. I think Windows no longer has compatibility with win 98 and lower but i might be misremembering.

This is not a meme of everything natural being allowed but a meme countering bigots claiming homosexuality is unnatural which they take as the reason to not want it allowed (because they’ve already lost on the angle of it being ethically wrong). Just because something is natural, doesn’t mean it’s good. It just means it’s not unnatural and you’re somehow confusing the two. What’s good is an ethical and altogether different question.
Or in simpler terms: Bigots be bigots (homosexuality is evil) > we prove them wrong > they still be bigots and move goal posts (homosexuality is unnatural) > we for some reason indulge them and prove them wrong on the moved goal post > they move goal posts again claiming to have already forgotten that we’ve already long established that homosexuality isn’t ethically wrong, looking insane in the process > I wonder why i even talk to you and block you because every single time i see a comment of yours it’s some negative bigoted shit and I’m tired of engaging with you. You manage to make yourself look insane all on your own anyways

I’m still on the first chapter but it’s awesome. But I got stuck on 2 of the bonus puzzles and age of wonders 4 and Elden Ring both dropped dlc as well so I’m currently playing way too much Elden Ring. I have to say that the philosophising in the first chapter didn’t land with me but maybe that’s because love for me isn’t something to thoroughly analyze.
- Comment on Dragon's Dogma 2 MTX 8 months ago:
In this case, the first (early?) time it’s been done, it’s “mild”, but it’s a step in the wrong direction.
It’s certainly not the first time, capcom did this. I remember them in DMC 4 and 5 and they were in DD1 as well but so inconsequential that everyone has forgotten. I think capcom just requires their devs to add them but the devs only do malicious compliance. I dislike capcom for it as it preys on uninformed people but like the devs for not making them actually required or designing the game around them.
- Comment on Dragon's Dogma 2 MTX 8 months ago:
Tbf this kind of bullshit useless mtx has been in probably every capcom game for a while now so it was expected on my end. I hate that capcom forces the devs to include them but every game I’ve played that had them they were useless and the devs were only doing malicious compliance.

So there’s fast travel tokens but you can get to most places by Oxcart for very cheap. The ferrystones also get more common as you go and I’ve never had a lack of them. I just finished the game yesterday and have not felt the game design being influenced by micro transactions.
