- Comment on Video Games Need to Be Cheaper to Buy 1 day ago:
Let’s go, another chapter of letting a small amount of AAA games dictate our perception of video game prices.
- Comment on Is there a word, perhaps as 40-letter compound word in German, that explains this annoying social phenomenon? 1 week ago:
I didn’t find a word that on its own echos this exact situation. However if you leave out the details, you won’t need a lot of words either, e.g.:
Oh yeah, awkward coincidence the other day — I ran into Sebastian McGillicuddy wearing the same T-shirt as last time lol. Hate when that happens.
But it’s certainly a more interesting and vivid story with the details you gave us. Much like Michael McGillicuddy’s infamous ‘Genesis of McGillicutty’ promo :)
- Comment on Why do some users have zero upvotes on their posts/comments? 1 week ago:
I remove my upvotes. I never understood the auto-upvote feature in the first place.

I want to avoid time-consuming games like Dota 2 or Crusader Kings 3…

Is it perhaps this Lemmy post ?
- Comment on How do you fight doomerism/pessimism in these trying times? 3 weeks ago:
One can only fight this pessimism for themselves. For some people there is no urge to fight it. They want to be part of the hardest times. Perhaps it works as a coping mechanism and in the end the problems most relatable to you are those that you are facing.
But if someone truly wants to feel less pessimism, all you have to do is to look back and reflect on history. A lot of people miss how long some “modern” problems have truly existed, long before it became relevant to them, from decades to millenniums. Some are totally aware of it, but it may be difficult to look at the past of a problem where you didn’t care about it or may even have been part of the problem. Or the history was so long ago that you only look at is as stories and nothing you can relate to.
We also underestimate our ability to live through the hell and normalize it. We were doomed multiple times and here we are. Vice versa, we underestimate the quality of life (especially in the western world) we have today. It’s not only hygiene, health and entertainment. We have progressed in our thoughts so much. Again, a lot of problems have only changed in how we recognize them as such. I’m not saying you shouldn’t fight fascism, because a lot of modern fascism used to be normalized not too long. I’m saying that we should be aware that we live in a time where we don’t ignore these problems in the first place.
- Comment on What are your favorite RPG maker games? 3 weeks ago:
OMORI is one of my favorite games, perhaps even my #1, in general.
- Comment on What's the name of this 80s song sang by a solo female singer? I only remember her saying "nothing really maaaa-tters" or "nothing truly maaaatt-ers". Has a vibe like I Feel For You by Chaka Kahn 2 months ago:
Could it be “Woodcabin” by Saint Etienne? If not, how close is it?
- Comment on Why do seemingly all politicians (and no one else) do that hand gesture when they talk, the one where it looks like they're holding an invisible fishing rod? 3 months ago:
Thanks for pointing that out.
- Comment on Who's your favorite female protagonist in a video game? (Add pic of character in response) 4 months ago:
Max Caulfield in Life is strange 1

- Comment on Why doesn't Food Network do product placement in there shows? Would they not earn more money by a host saying I use this hot sauce name drop but you can use whatever? 4 months ago:
Oh, my bad, thought it was only YouTube.
- Comment on Why doesn't Food Network do product placement in there shows? Would they not earn more money by a host saying I use this hot sauce name drop but you can use whatever? 4 months ago:
On Youtube there is a checkbox to mark paid promotion in a video. There will at least be the common label for paid promotion. I don’t think hiding a paid promotion is worth the risk for big Youtube channels.
- Comment on do you consider joking about dying and killing oneself a sign that the person saying it is troubled? 5 months ago:
I wouldn’t assume anything with only this information. Jokes about death and suicide aren’t uncommon and we don’t know how they mean it. However it doesn’t hurt to ask them and give them the opportunity to share their pain and sad songs with you.
- Comment on (Rant) Don't buy Rockstar games. 5 months ago:
What exactly happened that leads to your conclusion that none of your support requests are going through? And why was it not possible to continue the on-going support request that you linked in your screenshot?
- Comment on Do you read analog clocks to the exact minute? How do you do this quickly? 5 months ago:
It depends, but in most cases I can’t determine the exact minute on an analog clock. In practice, the quickest way is to choose the worse case.
- Comment on [deleted] 5 months ago:
Now that you have posted this on the internet, it’s probably too late to feel embarassed.
- Comment on what are in you're top 3 favourite games of all time? 6 months ago:
- OMORI
- Children of Morta
- One Dreamer
This might change everyday, especially for #3 I don’t have a definite pick. But I chose the lesser-known game.
- Comment on The clueless people are out there among us 9 months ago:
Why would you start a joke post with “this is going to sound really stupid”?
- Comment on What is a TV show that was one of your favourites, but just went on for far too long? 10 months ago:
Many anime, but Naruto (Shippuden) is my personal icing on the cake. The manga itself was already stretched out and the awful amount of fillers in the anime, especially towards the end, gave me a lot of headache.

- Comment on Terms for intentional anti-extensibility 1 year ago:
This is the kind of extreme solution I want to discover with a fitting search term. But personally, I still want to be able to fix bugs and update dependencies. I don’t want to lock down the project, but only the features.
- Comment on Terms for intentional anti-extensibility 1 year ago:
Yup, but I struggle to find results about intentional usage of anti-patterns. I mean, it’s actually a good thing, but… :/

- Comment on Video Games Can’t Afford to Look This Good 1 year ago:
Well, everyone has their priorities. The problem is that even the people, who do value realistic graphics the most, are not captured by new AAA games.
- Comment on What did everyone grab during the Steam Winter Sale? 1 year ago:
Nothing. It was a difficult choice, but it was a necessary sacrifice in favor of the games, collecting dust in my library :*-)
