Uplay can sometimes be an ahole but it’s that way on Windows too. EA and Rockstar launchers have been fine through Steam. A friend bought RDR2 directly from Rockstar has issues with Rockstar launcher outside of Steam. Use Heroic for Epic and GOG.

It’s gotta take them a least a week just to load their yahoo home page on dialup. What are they even able to access on the web these days at 56k?
- Comment on AOL is finally shutting down its dial-up internet service 1 week ago:
But I’ve barely made in a dent in my free trial cd-roms!

Ooh this looks like it has some potential. I’ll give it a shot. Thanks so much!

Through the Xbox Accessories app you can enable co-pilot mode between two Xbox controllers. So both are seen as one device. So I can use Left trigger and right trigger with my feet on the XBAC while keeping my controller in my lap and disabling the triggers on it so they are accidentally pressed.

Helldivers 2 runs fine through Proton with it’s anti-cheat. It was claimed to be kernel level.
- Comment on What are your experiences using Linux for gaming? 2 weeks ago:
A kernel level rootkit for windows though. What is it going to have access to in Linux? Isn’t it just reading Proton’s windows files that are created for each game ran through it?
- Comment on What are your experiences using Linux for gaming? 2 weeks ago:
Frame time pacing seems to be a lot better through Proton. Elden Ring runs better on my Steam Deck than my i5 13600k & 4090.

I get avoiding those games on principal… but is there any harm that can come from playing those through Linux?
- Comment on What are your experiences using Linux for gaming? 2 weeks ago:
Is there a co-pilot like function that can pair to controllers together? That feature with my Xbox Adaptive Controller is kind of keeping me on Windows. Or I have to give up those games.
- Comment on Why did our friends stop posting on social media? 4 weeks ago:
I’d also say the “share” function was up there. I wanted to see real posts by my real friends that took real thought to post. Not shit shared at the click of a button.

I still have love for 3 Dollar Bill Yall and Life is Peachy. But I don’t touch numetal as a genre at all anymore. Once I started to get into Staind and Disturbed or just hearing Nookie… no thanks. An older friend introduced me to Ska and Punk and I’m so glad he did.

That doesn’t make it better. So she paid money to somehow get seated at the same table as Putin and Flynn. If you find yourself at a table with that asshole and you don’t relocate, you’re asshole too.

I voted for Jill Stein in 2012. Then I realized she’s just as much of a grifter as the others. Also why was she at a dinner with Putin and Mike Flynn?

- Comment on Microsoft has created an AI-generated version of Quake 4 months ago:
People don’t even look at AI generated photos for more than a second. “Oh neat, next.” SO much wasted electricity for instant garbage. One decent AI image has probably a 100+ shitty ones that are just wasting GPUs and hard drive space. When those drives are full and old they dump them and then fill up some more. A mountain of invisible shit wasting our resources.

The amount of energy it must take to generate a shitty version of Quake II. Yeesh.
- Comment on have positive reviews destroyed games? 4 months ago:
The only negative opinions I care about for gaming usually come from Stephanie Sterling, because she’s pretty much right every time.
- Comment on Lithium-ion battery waste fires are increasing, and vapes are a big part of it 4 months ago:
I’m pretty sure they technically aren’t but no one cares enough to stop their sale. Obama banned “vape flavorings targeting children” which all of them seem to be. I’ve only seen them for sale in vape/tobacco shops. Places that get regulated, like gas stations, aren’t carrying them. At least around where I am in the USA.

Steam requires devs to place it right before the system requirements if they use it. Pretty big print, pretty easy to find. You can see it plain as day on the Black Ops 6 page.

I try to stay a patient gamer. If you do you’re usually rewarded with a discounted, patched up game with content it probably should have launched with. The exception I’ve been using for myself recently for AAA games is, is a the game a single player experience with no micro-transactions? If yes, I’ll buy it day one or close to it. I do want to show them that I’m willing to pay full price for these games if they aren’t predatory pieces of shit.

Back when you also got a physical product with an instruction manual and possibly a poster or something else. Now we get a digital license and yay.
Just something to consider…
