if it doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, you don’t have to force yourself to play.
play what you like.

its skill and timing based this time. dodging, jump attacks, parrying, etc. ultimates also are here.
its quite fun. companion moves are not automatic anymore and you can set certain combos to detonate. and unlike DA:I, companions can’t go down.
skill trees are awesome and I’m looking forward to trying different builds with each class.
the only downside is that enemies always target Rook. even with companions that can taunt, those taunts must be physically used by you and aren’t automatic.
it makes a mage pretty hard when starting out, but super powerful mid to late game.

i didn’t get every single scrap of lore and all codex entries just yet, but for a first run I got all except one faction leveled to max, all companions hero status locked, all side quests done, and really good lore ending.
was about 82 hours total. but I plan on doing more complete runs in future. i was just excited to be back.
I’m a nerd and I really love Dragon Age, ok? 😅 lol

i think it makes sense considering they have no real connection to the fade. its why they don’t use magic either.
but I did always find it curious considering the lyrium trade was highly lucrative for them. I guess its because of a lack of the connection to the fade that they can even handle raw lyrium in the first place.

was about 80 hours but that’s because I’m a Dragon Age nerd and I have to do every quest and lore bit 😅
worth it, though.

I’m on second playthrough. i am having a blast. and yes the hair physics are neat, but I like the combat.

yeah I just went back to modded minecraft, unfortunately. oddly enough I can get steam input to work perfectly for controller for that.
no idea why minetest seemed to struggle so much.

oh I already tried to make my own. but it just didn’t work all that well.

i had tried to mess around with it on my steam deck at one point but there’s not much in the way of controller support, sadly.
but I hope the project does well.

- Comment on Morrigan isn't just my favourite Dragon Age character, she's the greatest fantasy RPG companion of all time 1 week ago:
people try to play the character off as “sassy”, but they’re honestly just blinded by tiddies imho.
seems to be a common affliction. lol
- Comment on Morrigan isn't just my favourite Dragon Age character, she's the greatest fantasy RPG companion of all time 1 week ago:
she is canonically one of the most bratty, self serving characters in the series.
she acts like she’s hot shit until her plans go wrong, then she cowers and freaks out. she’s absolutely obsessed with getting her way. she tries to play like emotions are weakness, then instantly caves to her own because if its her emotions its different somehow. “Oh no the consequences of my actions?!”
Morrigan isn’t even as cool as Flemeth was. She’s a shitty power-grabbing dick who stomps her feet when she doesn’t get what she wants and behaves like everyone should worship the ground she walks on.
how tf is she the greatest RPG companion of all time, exactly?
- Comment on Dragon Age: The Veilguard won't get expansions, reports say, as BioWare move to the next Mass Effect 2 weeks ago:
i have no idea what that individual was playing. its awesome. I’ve been so engrossed that I got mad when I had to take a break to do some chores around the house today. lol.
story is interesting, characters are AWESOME, combat is addictive and fun, there’s so many secrets its fun to explore around and find them all. and the rewards are good, but not as cool as the way you find them.
and the main character you make has the most personality of any of the main characters in Dragon Age thus far.
its a blast.
- Comment on Dragon Age: The Veilguard won't get expansions, reports say, as BioWare move to the next Mass Effect 2 weeks ago:
honestly? i am 22 hours in and I only just now got all the companions. so I theorize there’s probably a fuck ton of content.
and the replayability is high considering they’re essentially doing origins again for the main characters you make now.
so no dlc doesn’t really feel like a bad thing.
- Comment on Terraria hits over 60 million sales with Terraria 1.4.5 shaping up to be another big update 2 weeks ago:
the thing about terraria is that the devs love to play as much as the players. so they love the game and are always interested in making the experience better. not just for the players but them too.
they’re also not a massive corporate run, shareholder-pleasing company either. so they actually listen to suggestions from fans. it’s the best.

i have been subscribed to him for quite a while because we have very similar tastes when it comes to games. so I know what you mean.
his review of Veilguard put me at ease a bit. I’m quite excited to play.
that talent/ability tree looks massive. i wanna get in there and try stuff.
- Comment on Dragon Age: The Veilguard | Review Thread 2 weeks ago:
weird. Mortismal Gaming rated it extremely highly. and even went so far as to say its his game of the year hands down.
guess people should just form their own opinions.

its actually stridulation! they rub their legs together to make a hissing noise (if I recall correctly). like a cricket kinda. but its a long hiss rather than a chirp.
- Comment on House Centipedes 3 weeks ago:
it’s ok! its really just them saying “Please don’t touch me =(”
but it really is a bit jarring the first time you hear it.
