- Comment on How the Freedom Caucus Rose to Power in Wyoming | A Freedom Caucus bloc has never won control of a state legislative chamber — until now. | Newly ascendant conservatives want to “burn it all down.” 2 weeks ago:
Mr. Zwonitzer [Republican] was critical of the Freedom Caucus’s focus on social issues like sex, books and bathrooms.
“A lot of us who’ve been in the last four years — it’s not fun,” he said. “If the Freedom Caucus is in power for four years and we don’t get the right governor elected, the effects will show up in four to five years, and then it’ll be a decade for us to pull ourselves back.”
…
Chief among the concerns for Senator Chris Rothfuss, a Democrat who represents Laramie, home of the University of Wyoming, was safeguarding the state’s $30 billion sovereign wealth fund, more than a third of which comes from taxes on oil, gas and natural resources. Interest income from the fund has been crucial in funding schools and the state’s annual budget, but Freedom Caucus leaders, determined to shrink government, are contemplating giving some of that money back to residents.
I hope the residents of Wyoming get everything they voted for. Now, I’m gonna sit back and enjoy the shitshow.
And here’s a little reminder of what happens when a state is controlled by extremist conservatives. As Trump Proposes Tax Cuts, Kansas Deals With Aftermath Of Experiment (NPR). It turns out lowering taxes and implementing spending cuts don’t improve the economy. In fact, it slowed and weakened and Kansas fell behind relative to its neighboring states.

Jesus Christ, so many people don’t know the real history of what happened while this is the real answer.
To add on to Ronald “Fucking” Reagan defunding universities, he did it because as governor of California he absolutely hated the anti-Vietnam War protests happening on University of California campuses and thought a good way to limit attendance of ‘rabble rousing’ (re: poor) students was to take away their funding. Conservatives nationwide saw this and thought ‘that’s great, we should do that, too.’ and they did.
Thanks Ronnie. You’re the unwanted microwaved dog shit that ruined America 40 years and your stink is still smelled in full force to this day. I didn’t believe in hell, but I hope they made a special one just for you.
- Comment on The Witcher IV revealed with Ciri as the protagonist 3 weeks ago:
Having not played any in the series but having them on my to-play list, this was my first thought. No matter how great it is, there will always be people who see a protagonist who doesn’t look like them and call it woke.

I contend that most things wrong with America can be attributed to a few people, two of them of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. A stupid healthcare system? Nixon. College costing so much? Reagan showed Nixon by doing while California as governor. The war on drugs? Nixon and Reagan. The housing crisis? Reagan’s finance sector deregulation. High wealth disparity? Reagan’s business regulations.
- Comment on 2025 is set to bring a ‘manager crash’ after all that burnout and lack of support adds up 5 weeks ago:
I know the feelings of the subjects of the article all too well. I was promoted to mid level manager for a year and hated it. I’ll never do it again. I’m quite happy to stay a lowly peon in the organization and make less money. The extra pay just ain’t worth the additional responsibilities, hours, and stress.

Right! I use silicone spatulas because I like the slight bit of flop it has, but there are options besides pan scratching metal and really crappy, pan saving plastic spatulas.

That’s a great question! We didn’t really need sunscreen in prehistoric time because we adapted to the environments that we lived in and we didn’t migrate to new environments as quickly as we could in later times. Those adaptations are getting more tan more easily and growing thicker skin. We can still see this now in people who don’t use sunscreen and their skin looks tougher and more leathery. Also, there were some ancient sunscreens ranging from simple mud to pastes made from ground plants.
