Depression is the name for a set of symptoms. The cause of depression can be a disorder, a disease, or environmental.

I looked at some of those, and it’s private citizens suing corporations…
That’s not the same as the government regulating capitalism. This is like saying that Texas doesn’t regulate abortion because it’s just private citizens filing lawsuits. That is bullshit.
Without the regulations, there would be no legal basis for filing a lawsuit.

In regulated capitalism, the government would step in to prevent this type of price fixing.

Yep:
Nine bystanders were wounded by stray bullets fired by the officers and ricocheting debris, but none suffered life-threatening injuries.

We keep engineering new and ingenious ways to extract more oil from mostly-not-oil, but that’s destroying the planet.
Before we were doing that we were destroying the planet by killing whales and burning coal. We haven’t quit burning coal though, but we have managed to cut back on killing whales.
Elon’s Hyperloop was never a good idea, and it’s fortunate it was never actually built and probably will never be built.
It actually looks like China is going to give it a shot: twitter.com/PDChina/status/1746449572325638166

The kinda shitty part is that everybody is a full time employee but you still get frequent layoffs after projects end. That’s the worst of both worlds, especially in the US where there are basically zero mandatory protections. In places with actual labor regulations it’s… kinda expensive and self-defeating.
Something like 60% of EA employees live outside the U.S.A.

Are you just here to tell people there’s nothing they can do?
What’s your suggestion?

Buy stock in the companies posting record profits.

Origin is still bad and so is whatever Ubisoft’s launcher is called.
- Comment on Steam keeps on winning 11 months ago:
Last year, I pointed out how many big publishers came crawlin’ back to Steam after trying their own things: EA, Activision, Microsoft. This year, for the first time ever, two Blizzard games released on Steam: Overwatch and Diablo 4.
Why is it so hard for companies to build a game launcher that doesn’t suck? Is it just a lowest bidder situation?

The last time I was shopping for RAM was in 2020. I think the supply chain was probably all jacked up from COVID.
I paid $55 for 2ea. 8GB sticks. The price now is $24: amazon.com/…/ref=pe_861660_435879970_fxm_4_0_n_id

Cool. You might check and double check the RAM timings. My machine did not like to run at 1600.

DDR3 was really hard to find the last time I went shopping for RAM.
I bet you can get at least another 5 more years out of that computer.

Lethal Company is still in early access. It is anyone’s guess what will happen between now and when the game is “finished”.
