  My understanding is that you always could do this and people have been doing this for a long time. That’s why games like NEOTOKYO, Double Action: Boogaloo, and No More Room In Hell are free on Steam. More modding tools are great however

  I haven’t had issues with Gamepass specifically but I have had issues with the Microsoft store in the past. So much so that the only fix to download a game was to reinstall Windows. Happened to my desktop and laptop the same.
