I worked at Goodwill sorting donations 20 years ago. This is nothing new. They price according to what they think they can get for it. And if we got in designer stuff that we thought we could make money off of, there was a Goodwill website we sold it on. This is the way it’s always been.

Criminal minds when they did an episode in Milwaukee. I was okay that the sets looked nothing like Milwaukee, but I couldn’t handle it when they showed b roll of another city. I get not building city specific sets or shooting on location, but not even buying the stock footage of Milwaukee was so lazy I had to stop watching the show.

I think a lot of people are just very, very pleased with how well it’s being supported compared to its initial launch and how this game company has become an outlier in the industry. And they take their love for the company’s business practices and don’t recognize them as conflating them with the game’s mechanics. So while the game may be great, I think a lot of people subconsciously give it a boost because of its legacy.
