In German it’s even funnier if you translate haunted with “besessen” as it means “occupied by bad souls” and “being sit on” at the same time.
- Comment on TikToker Exposes Truth Behind 'Garbage Feeding' - pigs in dozens of states are legally fed plastic garbage, ground up and added to their feed 10 months ago:
I also didn’t watch this video here but saw videos earlier where livestock was fed with expired food that supermarkets weren’t able to sell in time. All kinds of products like vegetables, bread, cake, yogurt etc. were delivered to the farmers directly or to intermediate companies. In many cases the food was still in its packaging, e.g. a plastic bag around a loaf of bread. But to keep costs low everything just went into a huge shredder and was then fed to the animals. Including lots of micro (and not so micro) plastics.
So the cost cutting is not about “explicitly feeding plastics as a cheap filler” but rather “accepting to have plastics in the food in favor of lower sorting costs”.
In the documentary I watched this was described a common practice all over Europe.

Isn’t clear and transparent rules a pretty good way to tell users what to expect from a community? I mean, you are free to offer or request help elsewhere if you don’t want to comply to the set of rules. You can even start your own community if you’d like. I think it’s for sure better than individual moderators deciding based on a gut feeling and blocking random posts and users.
- Comment on They quit their jobs. Their ex-employers sued them for training costs 1 year ago:
The training costs are not the craziest part of this claim from my perspective: The Skin and Cancer Institute was trying to make her repay US$38,000 in training costs and more than US$100,000 for “loss of business” caused by the company’s inability to transfer Ms Lakey’s responsibilities to someone new.
They we’re probably paying a fraction of that as a salary and then want to hold the employee accountable that they can’t find a replacement. Crazy world…
