Yeah. Who wants to volunteer to jump into a meat grinder ?
If anything, this shows how bad things used to be. Before, normal life was miserable and the glory of dying for your country seemed like a good idea.

Russia is imploding, I think that might be a reason they're trying to gain more land, resources, and citizens by conquering another land.

They ran a deficit for the Crimean war. The regions they captured required more money for maintenance than they got back.
Russia is already the biggest country in the world, with the largest amount of resources oil, timber, gas, minerals etc.
These two things combined, it makes no financial sense to start the war. That's without even getting into the financial sanctions.
