  On one hand, as a soldier in an theatre of operations this is really stupid and a violation of basic stuff.

    You think Russians want to be there ? They don't get pay, benefits or leadership like the US army.

    There is no plan. Their leaders are shoving them in, hoping to meat swarm UA. Mr. Average Soldier knows his leaders are incompetent and sending him to a slaughter. A platoon surrendered on day 1.
