It's clear that if IQ wasn't an accurate measure of anything then we wouldn't be able to use it for anything, but that's not true. It's a really good predictor of a lot of things. If you had a choice when you're born of being in the top 10% of wealth or the top 10% of intelligence, you'd want to be in the top 10% of intelligence every time.

IQ test can be practiced to be improved. They've had to raise the difficulty over the years to keep the average at 100.
