As online streaming grows in popularity through platforms such as Twitch, many viewers find themselves forming one-sided or parasocial relationships with the streamers they watch regularly, which can often be mistaken for friendship. In this documentary, friends of popular streamer Ludwig explain why viewers are drawn to him, how Twitch as a platform inherently enables parasocial relationships, why viewers partake in these relationships, and what this means for the future of streaming.
