Jokes aside, I think what they meant was the soreness and other really mild stuff. But that could be said of all medical treatments. Patient is afraid so they feel somewhat worse.
No real doctor on the planet would ever believe that Nocebo would lead to heart transplant or death
Hell, no real doctor/researcher wanted to even touch the topic of the equally real Placebo effect. It was like career suicide.
Its only in the last 10 years, that researchers published about genes that give you a positive placebo effect from a controlled study.
