Checked both google and brave and ddg at the same time. Google still showing this unreliable warning shit

DDG not only is fine, but even autofill suggested the phrase to me as I was typing, lol https://duckduckgo.com/?q=the+narrative+is+crumbling&t=h_&ia=web
I attribute that last one to Bing being a 80% cooked POS, like most things made my Microsoft (My day job is developing for Azure - Microsoft cloud)

Several years ago I went to a workshop by a Azure consultant (freelancer, not MS affiliated), who had been consulting on MS products like Office for 20 years.
He told me when he reports bugs to Azure devs, he has to explain to them, how their software works. They are so siloed, that even cloud teams are clueless about their cloud products.
The older a company is, the more these kind of systemic problems become. Similar to what you were talking about corruption, earlier.
