This is the best summary I could come up with:
The premium cable network formerly known as Epix has officially picked up a second season of the sci-fi drama series starring Stephan James and Lena Headey.
Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead) and Joy Blake (The Passage) serve as showrunners on season two, which will see James return alongside Natasha Mumba and Ellen Wong.
“Thank you to our dedicated creative partners, the wonderful team at MGM+, and the talented cast and crew for helping deliver what is sure to be an unforgettable season of television.”
Season one of the drama followed Aster (Game of Thrones grad Headey), a government agent, and Halan (James), a stoic ex-military man, whose fates became entangled after they found themselves trapped together inside one of many Beacons that served as a lighthouse for intergalactic travelers.
What an incredible opportunity for us to tell the stories of such unexpected characters whose lives are inextricably linked by a place that few understand, and none can ever leave.”
At MGM+, Beacon 23 joins a scripted roster that also includes Godfather of Harlem, From, Billy the Kid, The Winter King and A Spy Among Friends, among others.

The first couple of episodes were a bit slow as I tried to figure out what type of show it was trying to be. I’m done with season 1 now and will def keep it on the watchlist for season 2.
