  At the risk of stating the obvious, people die for reasons other than heart failure. Like, a lot of reasons. A heart replacement can extend the life of a person with heart problems, assuming it doesn’t cause any complications or rejection issues, but it won’t do anything for a person with, say, a brain tumor.

  Or is this about how fragile technology is compared to biology?
