Recently, I have been getting a number of followers whose user names start with numbers. None of them every writes shit to me. Are these mofos genuinely my fans trying to get into my pants or are they bots?
To me it seems like bots or sleeper accounts
What’s a sleeper account?
An account that builds credit to be able to post and interact, and be seen as not a new or “baby” account. They create them now, do fake micro interactions, then, when reputation score is higher, they get used as spam or malware.
I’ve gotten a few of them. I’m pretty certain they are spam or will be spam in the future. I block them.
If someone else has a better understanding of who/what they are, feel free to let me know too.

They are Mastodon users. There is an interoperability bug between PieFed and Mastodon that causes some Mastodon users’ names to be replaced with some internal Mastodon user number.
