  I wonder if old-timey people could see through all the bullshit ads and came to their own logical conclusions about products. Or if they unwittingly let these ads permeate their consciousness, and let them dictate the purchases they made at the store 😕

  I don’t really get why this got accepted by the general public at the time… I mean it IS plain wrong and it is not a perspective question. It is partially even logical fallacy. I really do not understand how palmolive could have gotten popular with such toxic advertising. I mean yes, a lot is due to cultural changes but still. A person who would believe this is utterly blinded and I cannot believe that the whole soviety can be that blinded…
