Maximum dynamic pressure. At max q, the mechanical stress on a spacecraft stops increasing and starts decreasing. If a spacecraft is going to blow up, it usually does so before max q.
Not sure how to make that apply here 🧐

Thrust is usually lowered approaching max Q to ease dynamic loading.
Anyway, consider waving your arm, vs holding it out the window at 80mph. Then imagine your arm at 80 in a vacuum.
