They’re right about the tradeoff, though.
The rates of autism are lower than the death rates without vaccines, so even if they did cause autism (which they do not), you should still vaccinate them.
The only thing they got wrong was falling for the lie about vaccines causing autism.
Given that premise: their conclusion was correct.

Much of the primary education and information dissemination systems in the US have become increasingly constructed to misinform and misdirect the population and remove the potential for rational thought and debate, there will be a lot of collateral damage in an approach of that sort.
