The plot is original with pop culture references here and there such as Portal or Star Wars, it’s a movie where Ryan Reynolds has the lead role where he’s basically an NPC named Guy (who is the main protagonist) in which he learns the true nature of his existence when he meets the girl of his dreams, a human player.

The name of the game is: Free City. Now about the movie in opinion, they even have cameos of streamers (DanTDM, Jackspeticeye) which kind of made me cringe when watching it, but the dialogue about WM privilege was not necessary. Channing Tatum appears in this movie only once and isn’t mentioned again.

I mean, do you consider the movie good or shit in terms of how they represented video games? There are terrible game to movie adaptations like SM Bros (1993) as that has nothing to do with the source material but there’s another Mario movie starring Chris Pratt which was released in 2023 which was better than the 90s version.
