  I mean... As long as it seals up when the person inhales it's doing exactly what it's supposed to do. An N95 mask is protective equipment meant to filter particulates out of the air, not to prevent particulates from entering the air. If they happen to do that all the better but that's not the point. If you're walking around in an area with asbestos for example, you don't care if you're contributing droplets to the asbestos, you're trying to keep the asbestos from entering your lungs.
