That this same director would go on to direct the latter two 90"s Batman films still throws me for a loop.
The new version can't beat the old version.

For a moment my brain did a little back and forth thing because Christopher Nolan has directed Batman movies and The Odyssey and the guy who directed falling down has directed Batman movies.
And what’s more “trying to find your way home” than constantly reliving the trauma of your parents getting shot in an alley? Batman is just an allegory for the Odyssey. But with less dead slaves at the end.

Suggestions so far from other social media: Kids A boy and his dog.

Isn’t the name of this movie Falling Down? I’ve never seen it called The Odyssey

They couldn’t call it The Odyssey without Disney threatening to sue them because they own the copyright on all public domain myths. So they changed it to Falling Down and got rid of the dog dying at the end.

Dude that’s awesome I had no idea about this. Funny I was expecting it to be a weird joke but look at that I actually learned something on the shitpost community.
Super cool man this movie is one if my favorites. Every time I get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic I think about that scene in the beginning where he’s just like fuck it and leaves his car in the road
