Me, after 30 seconds of black screen on my Steam Deck trying to play a game with “unknown” compatibility.
When your PC freezes and you have no choice but to hold the power button to force it off

Since I haven’t even had to use a Windows computer and more than 25 years, I have no idea what you’re talking about

Windows computers aren’t the only type of computers to freeze. I’ve had to hold down power to shutdown my MacBook and my Linux desktop. It’s usually GPU related. The Intel macbook I used to used would freeze if you plugged it into a monitor while it was sleeping. About once a month my Linux desktop will wake up from sleep and then freeze and I’ll have to hit the reboot button on the front panel.

I just press ctrl alt 1 to go to the CLI, use ps -e | grep “steam” to find the offending process, and then kill it.

Look up REISUB before doing that. I used it twice recently and just the RE part was enough to rescue my system

I like to whisper “ssshhhhhhh” while doing it
