Did he move away from the moral message?

“It remains the central argument,” Mr. Gore said, pointing out that he was still making this case in speeches and at meetings. But he also noted that “experience says there are a lot of people who will be more easily be persuaded by the impact on their pocketbooks.”

Always give people the moral reason to do the right thing, but also a selfish reason.

Because when people are stressed, we get selfish, it’s Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

So you tell people the moral reason for good times, and the selfish reason for bad times.

Morals can prolong peace but it’s absolute dogshit at advancing society. Nothing solves wealth inequality faster than everyone understanding how bad it actually is.
