Request to mod c/MDMA

Hello, I am building a (still-expanding) network of drug discussion communities, which currently includes:

c/drugs - General Drug Discussion (Main / Central Community)
c/weed - Cannabis Discussion
c/psy - Psychedelic Discussion
c/drank - Alcohol Discussion
c/opi - Opiate Discussion

I’ve gotten these communities to a point I’m happy with (except c/drank but I’ll be getting to that one soon. I had trouble finding an icon for it). I’ve also had no real trouble moderating them (Lemmy moderation is usually easy, most people here are nice).

So I’d like to request a community which appears to have been created, and then immediately locked down by, the user who made it:

c/mdma

The only post, from 3 years ago, says its future will be determined “currently awaiting the outcome of an agreement”. Not sure what that’s about but I’d like to get it running as a MDMA discussion sub in the style of these other subs. Thank you!

I contest your request to be settled in trial by combat. I don’t think it works like that but I think it would be really funny for c/mdma

Why so many communities? I’d stick to one specially if you are serious about this, and you’ll get more engagement imo. But heck, up2u waht you do.

  I’m modeling it after the drug-discussion parts of the now-dead website 420chan.org, which I used a lot when I was younger. (Which, I feel like I have to give the disclaimer every time, was nothing like 4chan.)
  
  c/Drugs is the main community, but for example from the perspective of me as a potential browser, I really only care about cannabis and psychedelics. So having specific communities for those substances is beneficial imo. Plus it’s so low-effort to moderate on Lemmy anyway, at least for now, that it’s really no struggle. Plus the community already exists anyway, might as well get it in working order.

    Thx for explaining your reason. Sounds as if there’s some “nostalgia” or pay it forwad at work or something.
    
    Don’t get me wrong, I commend your drugs community thing. And my comments were made to fortify and focus your efforts and comunity longevity. Expecially, since the topic can be controversial to some. And also because it takes work to make a community engaging. Anyhow good luck.
