Unsurprisingly, they don’t veven attempt to answer that in the article.
They’re not about to come out and say that what’s widening the gap is a corrupt and malevolent president accommodated by a corrupt and craven Congress, Supreme Court and mass media (of which CNBC is a part), all at the behest of the relative handful of fabulously wealthy psychopaths who fundctheir corruption.
And what does this laughable failure of an article say instead?
When you have an ever-growing number of people in the wealthiest country in the history of the world struggling to pay for everyday items, the vague possibility of some paltry measure of temporary relief isn’t an achievement to be hoped for - it’s a failure to be condemned.
Some economists?
Any economist who claims any position other than absolute certainty that any impact will be short-term at best is even more of a lying sack of shit than expected.

What has Trump done in his second term to make the economy worse than in Biden's term?
I think that going for tax refunds rather than tax cuts is certainly proof that the government perhaps even wants the relief to be short-term.
