A cold start in the north but bright spells with some wintry showers here. Turning wet and windy further south with snow, especially on hills. Severe gales later in the far southwest as Storm Goretti moves into the southwest.
Tonight:
Storm Goretti moves eastwards along the south of the UK. Severe gale force winds for the far southwest, and heavy snow for Wales and central England. Clear skies further north.
Friday:
Storm Goretti moves away towards the southeast, but rain continuing across the east of England. Drier conditions developing further west as winds winds slowly ease. Calmer in the north.
