I created the shavian community yesterday to allow users to practice writing with the Shavian alphabet. This means that content is written in English with a non-Latin alphabet.
Even though I haven’t told anyone about the community yet, there has been some traffic: I think my posts so far are being served in a feed somewhere. This is not desirable: a general user would not want to see post titles with unrecognisable characters in their feed.
Is there a way to hide a community from feeds? I found this post about hiding a community, but I don’t know if this is possible on lemmy.world.

Hello,
we can mark your community as locally hidden, which will prevent non-subscribed users from seeing it. This is however only a local thing and will not affect users on other instances. It will therefore also prevent discovery, as it’s not only removing posts from a feed, but also removing the entire community from being seen anywhere unless accessed directly.
