Neil Jacobs was found to have violated NOAA’s code of ethics after an investigation into an incident that centered on an altered hurricane forecast map in 2019.
he said he stood by the Trump administration’s proposals to dismantle much of NOAA’s climate science enterprise, while also diverging from Mr. Trump’s statements that climate change is a “hoax,”
Oh so he fully understands the threat of climate change, but is happy to follow orders and prevent action to mitigate the damage of climate change
The absolute worst type of person, in my opinion. He knows the harm his actions will cause, but doesn’t care if it gets him money and power

They can do this during the shutdown?

Yes. The Senate is still in session. Congress has to be able to meet during a shutdown so that they can vote to end it.

Ah, I wonder how many times the senate had voted on issues that are “unrelated” to ending the shutdown. I suppose theoretically any issue could be working towards ending it to get senate into alignment.
