Opera Neon is a new browser that puts AI in control of your tabs and browsing activities, but it’ll cost $19.90 per month.
I can’t imagine what I’d even want the “Ai” to do in the browser.

Same!
Genuinely, I don’t understand the draw of any of these ai web browsers. Why would anyone want that. What benefit does it even give?
You’ll finally get rid of some of those unneeded $$ every month…
Allows AI companies to accidentally “hallucinate” all of your data perfectly intact
The appeal is probably to people who think AI needs to be integrated into everything
That’s bold, I will say that
That’s an easy no.
why would a payday loan company suggest such a thing surprisedpika.gif
Why would anyone pay you $20/mo when they can sell their personal data to ChatGPT and use it for free?
I had no idea they were reusing the name. Apparently they had a different prototype under this name in 2017.

Didn’t opera get bought by some shady company years ago?

Yep.
Vivaldi is basically the real Opera now, including some of its devs IIRC.

It annoys me every time someone puts out an article about Opera and doesn’t open the article with that.
