Interesting article and good debunking.
I do however believe the title is an overstatement for clicks. This is about a single article, there’s no grounds for calling academical defeat on the entirety of the historical faculty.
And overall this penchant for a good story is not only something historians are fond of, but humans in general. This is what the writer banks in with his title so it’s ever so slightly hypocritical imho.
