I was going through my posts, looking for a certain one, when I realized that almost two weeks of images seem to be just… gone? Is this related to the image cache purge?
I have not been able to upload pictures for a few days now

Yes. To make sure all the unwanted content is going, they did a blanket purge of the week it happened.
