I played some more Assassin’s Creed Shadows today and went on a little side quest today to gather a few odd achievements. I’ve resolved myself to 100% this game so it can proudly stand 100%ed next Silent Hill 2, Alan Wake, and Fallout New Vegas.

The screenshot above is the first one i went after, which is called “Final Hearing”, where i have to sheath my blade right as an enemy died form bleeding. It was actually a little easier than i expected. I snapped this pic right after killing the last enemy in the group i was trying it on. I think i was off by a few seconds though, and now i wish Steam had a Achievement Screenshot function like Sony has. It would be a fun way to commemorate getting a difficult screenshot in a game.

I got to go on this fun little side quest as well to pull it off where i raided a ship for a sword that could inflict bleeding. I had no clue what it looked like and was expecting just a normal katana, but instead i got this sick looking one with serrations.

Raiding the boat also gave me the opportunity to snap a landscape shot of one of my new favorite beaches in Video Games right now. I’m in love with the waves and how they play with the wind. My only wish is that the Ocean floor had a bit more going on down there, but i will say that it does look fairly realistic (though, i will admit i don’t have much good beach experience).

On my way back also presented a nice opportunity because fog rolled in, which looked really pretty blanketing the land. It also made me think to myself “Wow, this reminds me of that new Silent Hill game they’ve been teasing”.

The final achievement i did was one where i have to use a reed to breathe in shallow water to escape enemies. I have never done this before because i could never get it to work. I thought i had to be swimming, but it turns out i have to crawl in shallow water for it to work (because you can’t dive in shallow water).

After that i went on to continue the story. I got this screenshot of a burnt forest after one of the targets, called the Ox, went through here. One thing i’m starting to feel by this point is that the main villains are a little too disconnected. I think it would be for the best to remove the choice of assassination targets and instead go back to a linear story. Being able to see how they connect to an overarching plot would help greatly imo for the middle section. Besides that though i’m really enjoying the story.

One thing i found while doing the story was a water source. I think it was supposed to be in the pillar, but my assumption is some employee moved it last minute and no one noticed the water source wasn’t moved. It’s not like a game breaker or anything, but it’s the kind of thing where i stopped and went “Wait a minute…” and had a good laugh about seeing that.

The final mission i did had me break into this castle too talk to a Ronin. I got this screenshot as a fun little display to capture the feel of the stealth. I was using the flag poles to clear the field where Samurai were practicing, remaining unseen. It felt really cool and was like when i’d do the same thing in Unity.
