Authoritarian measures like this are not how you stop people protesting, this won’t lead to anything except further police violence being inflicted upon the best people in Victorian society.

It already was. Over 10 years ago Occupy Melbourne were getting kettled, protestors get pepper sprayed and over the years there have already been laws passed eroding the right to protest.

They’ve been under attack for decades. Since the aftermath of the Franklin Dam protests at the very least.
