I’m an Albertan, and I hate the UCP. They are deliberately dismantling our public services, like education, so they can sell people on privatization. The only reason they get elected is because rural communities are majority hard Conservative - homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic, anti-immigrant, pro-fossil fuels, and so on. You can take a look at that election map if you want to see the city vs. rural divide. The worst part is then the Conservative voters complain constantly about how our national government is starving things like education and healthcare, which are provincially run services! Once you get outside the cities it’s easily apparent why Alberta is called the Texas of Canada.
