Does the English translation for the subtitles not make sense? Or is it the plot/the trailer that doesn’t make sense?

This is another one of those situations with a foreign film that has little info available and a cryptic trailer. I’m usually pulling the synopsis from themoviedb or imdb, even though they seem skewed from what the trailer depicts.
I’ve been reaching out to film distributors to see if there’s a more formal notification mechanism (rss or pub/sub announcement feed) for trailer publication that I could use to automate posts, but none of them have responded. Ideally the distributors would have the best synopsis data out there.
