Times are changing - and not for the best.
I think divorces have been continuously going down. They peaked back when they were first legalized, and have been going down in part because people who don't want to get married don't necessarily need to get married.
I know a couple who were super cute who ended up breaking up. Not sure what the story was, but I know they were dating in high school and that often ends up resulting in heartbreak when the real world strikes.

What year were they married? It could have been 2002 and they held out for 20 years. A lot of people split at 18 years.

btw this is Vatican 2 related drama, I believe the laxity of Vatican 2 contributed to this divorce as well as that of other friends I have or had, which is also something practical that has pushed me further in an anti-Vatican 2 pro-tradition direction (like sedevacantism as a minimum no brainer response to me, to these completely unacceptable situations)

The 18 year thing was based more on personal observation.
