Turns out the unsubscribe link was getting picked up and reformatted by some email clients. I'll fix that for the second batch. I did un sub REDACTED for her though.
We've got 2, count em 2 signups,
Thanks https://wolfballs.com/u/puffin_1 and https://wolfballs.com/u/hdbsob for joining
And the video linked in the post has 36 views,
Which is probably pretty close to the rate of clicks via email.
so 50,000 emails equals about 30 clicks in 2 hours.
Overal, not super impressed with email as a marketing technique. Unless people are waiting on the email.

One of the few times in the history of the world that email spam would actually be for something that I'd want to take a lookat.
Welcome to all the new wolfballs users who joined as a result of the email.
Sometimes you're going to see users like me with a different website address listed after the name. That's because wolf balls is part of what's called the fediverse. Fediverse means federated universe, and it means that besides this website existing, there are a large number of other websites operated by other people that can connect to this one. That's one of the many examples of freedom on this website, not only can you talk with the people from here, you can also have conversations with people from other websites running the same type of software. So you'll see messages from people like me, and besides that you can also subscribe to communities on other websites. It will take you a little bit of time to figure out exactly what that means, but it's just something to keep in mind because it's going to be a really cool feature in the future. There's a completely different type of software out there called Mastodon that is more like a Twitter type software, and because of the interoperability of all the magical Weebly wobbly stuff going on in the back end, sometimes you'll even see people responding to posts on Wolf balls who aren't even on this type of website. They are subscribing from a completely different type of software.
Each website in the fediverse is run by its own set of administrators, often on completely separate hardware, by people who just really care about making a community available. Each website is going to be running to its own standards, and some websites are going to be more focused on freedom, and others are going to be more focused on protecting the users. It's really up to the individual administrators on the individual sites which way they want to operate their sites. Although it is sometimes annoying the fact that admins of decent sites are a little bit too pushy, that sort of freedom to choose where and who you want to associate with is probably one of the coolest things about the fedivers. As long as you manage to find a spot that you want to live that matches with the way that you are, you're going to be good. And even if you find there's no place that's quite the way that you want it to be, you can start your own.
On the other hand, I don't see any reason for new users to go that deep into it. Wolfballs is a great site with some really great users, and there's a big reason why I spend a lot of time participating in communities on this website. I hope you enjoy your time here.
