Just browsing around Poa.st I see fimilar users from both here, and gab and freespeech extremist.

I think part of the struggle to grow this platform will be growing the fediverse as a whole.

It will be extremely important for us to develop a model to make money. A model that is reproducible by other instances. I think that will help people get more excited about hosting instances. And also a way for users to tap into that revenue model. People who make good shit post and good news post should have a way to monetize it.

After I start sending out some advertisments this month. That needs to be the goal.

Probably start with a small shop selling one thing. Make that a good experience and share the code.

One thing right away would be brave basic attention tokens, as well as setting up a subscribestar and liberapay.

Say what you will about reddit, the concept of reddit gold makes them a lot of money every day, and I'm sure once the platform reaches a critical mass then something like that could be used to both incentivise the platform and the posters.

Federation sort of poses a problem -- if you set up wolfballs gold it isn't gonna show up on fbxl lotide or fbxl social or poast unless it's a system that tries to DM someone who got the gold with instructions on redeeming gold benefits independent of the website, unless you just say "sorry, thanks for the great post but unless you're a wolfballs member you just get a nifty star on our website" which admittedly would invlcentivise joining the instance.

  We could fork our own crypto as a way to implement this. That way anyone could use the coin in their instance however they want.

    Lol I like that -- wolfturd the shitcoin. Once the everything bubble bursts there'll have to be a pathway from the coin to something worth having, since I expect most cryptos to collapse during that process.
