I’m told that is good.

Many loads are happening.
Mostly laundry in this house. Internet speed irrelevant.

Yeah I was referring to this morning’s thread comments, but that got me thinking about what I’m paying for versus what I’m actually getting with the download speeds.

A load of laundry, a load in the dishwasher & I just loaded up the green waste bin with weeds. And if I can get all the planting done today that will be a load off my mind!

Is that upload or download? By Australian standards, that’s acceptable. 50 up is about as good as you’ll get for now. 50 down isn’t the best, but should be fine for one or two people who only make light usage of it mixed with the occasional Netflix
You probably have room to upgrade though, unless you’re on truly ancient technology

Thank you. It’s download speed. We got an offer to install FTTP and I didn’t follow up on it. Maybe I’ll check it out.

If it’s free, I say absolutely fuckin go for it. There aren’t really any cons at all that I can think of. They’ll need to do some wiring obviously, and there’ll be a device installed outside somewhere, and I believe usually a new port inside that’ll replace your old phone port or whatever you currently use. But there aren’t really any disadvantages to it besides needing to find a few hours to be at home for them to install
(If you’re in a rental, I don’t believe the landlord is actually allowed to say no unless it’s heritage registered. If you own, I dunno, you might have a couple of screw holes to patch at most)
