Fucking trespassers on Mernda/Hurstbridge lineâŠcan we just have a train network where this shit doesnât happen please? Iâm paying $10 a day, least we deserve is a train network that works for that price.

My brother is a train driver that occasionally does that line as well as others. Just last week, he was driving the Upfield line. A brainless idiot driver steering by google maps missed a turning onto a road going parallel to the line. The driver then drove ONTO the tracks and proceeded north using those instead of the road. The car made it about half way to the next station before getting stuck, as train tracks are not roads and are not intended to be driven on in a normal car - even a four wheel drive has trouble. Its a width thing. The car was then sideswiped by trains going up the line AND down the line - the car ended up nearly fully crushed and derailed one of the trains. Fortunately no one was killed, and it wasnât rush hour, but nothing that happened was the train networkâs fault. You canât stop pure damned fools from being fools - but we all have to wear the consequences.
