MrsDoyle@sh.itjust.works 3 weeks agoThe more you drill down into UK history the messier it becomes. Scotland’s history alone is crazy. My favourite yarn is the Darien scheme, which pretty much wrecked the country’s economy in the late 1690s. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darien_scheme

Ah, the Darien Scheme. How to basically go all-in on the New World colonialism thing but fail miserably.
