Does anyone know why? They are using IPv6 addresses so theoretically there should be infinite IPs.
Honestly YouTube should try to come up with some sort of deal to allow Piped and other third party frontends. Maybe have some sort of paid API access or some agreement to allow YouTube to use piped servers as a cache.

That would make sense, but youtube from what I seen doesnât do anything good updates.
