Comment on In the US, is this actually the moment past the point of no return?
LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 day agoHow about the fact drill baby drill means seeing a 3 degree Celsius increase by 2100. That’s the lifetime of many of the people in this earth. That kind of change will kill many ecosystems and make deserts out of a lot where we live and grow food. We know we can’t stop going past 1.5 degrees now do to our slow changes. Instead we are hitting the gas pedal according to Trump. The oceans, plantlife on land, everything that consumes it is in jeopardy. Estimates are around 60% of animal populations since the 70s. At some point you break the link in the food “chain” if you will, and larger masses die off, until it is unrecoverable.

Right.

You don’t believe the animals are dying? Or that the temperature is rising, or that the oil companies research who agree are telling the truth? Exxon has been telling us this since the 1970s.

I believe all of that is happening with or without the results of this election. Some problems are bigger than red vs blue. We are failing en toto on this one. True, the in-flight movie on the Trump plane to hell is suckier than the one on the Harris plane to hell, but they land in the same place.

Fucking hell I was asking for clarification.

I share your frustration. There are many narratives on Lemmy that you’re supposed to just know and parrot. Asking questions, even just for more information, is blasphemy. It’s plain pathetic.
