iamtanmay@wolfballs.com 2 years agoI would be careful with what is considered a 'city'. Even though small indian towns/villages can have 100,000+ people, there isn't much to do there.
Tier 1 Indian cities have interesting things like decent restaurants, theaters, sports etc. Tier 2 and below are devoid of interesting entertainment. Indians are surprisingly boring by Western standards.
Yeah, I am sure you could live for 100$... but would it really be a 'life' ? You'd die of boredom.

I see your point but I am more of a nature enthusiast and a gamer. I also like to establish friend groups and just hang out a lot. A beach or some nicenature spot, some good friends, some chess, some video games, the INTERNETZ... I am pretty set.
Back when I used to drink, I was really just happy drinking frequently and needed almost nothing else to have a really good weekend day. In my old age, I might bring this back though to a more limited degree...
I did the "big city life" thing in my 20s and, as I have aged, that has become less interesting.
I do totally see your point, though.
Which is why being a few hours away from a place that is entertaining would be ideal. Could make a weekend of going to the city and enjoying some nice restaurants, some footy games, etc.
But then that sort of ruins the tiny budget but, at the end of the day, living on $200-300 a month... except for a weekend where I spend another $200-300 in the city... that ain't bad, either.

Yeah... that's more bad news then. Contrary to popular belief, developed countries care for 'nature' much better than developing ones. Asians have been the worst. Forests nearly gone. Most villages don't have garbage collectors, they just set fire to stuff. Rural asians burn wood, coal or animal dung to cook food. Smoke and fire is pervasive, unlike 1st world urban environment.
You might have better luck with islands. Islands are usually more responsible and clean. Find ones which are not too touristy, otherwise every hut becomes a 'villa' and the price skyrockets.
