The latter is correct.
English has a fixed adjective order:
Determiner Quantity Opinion Size Age Shape Color Origin/Material Qualifier
“Versatile” is an opinion and “modular” is a qualifier.
“The single, versatile, large, new, round, blue, local, modular thingamawidget.”
